In a lot of cases doctors will need to adjust the dose of ADHD medication. This is known as titration. It is a way to determine a dose that reduces symptoms and is also tolerable.

Doctors will start you with a low dose and visit you every week to discuss any adverse effects. They will gradually increase the dosage until you reach your target level.
