Federal Employers Liability Act

Railroad workers who are injured have a specific legal right to be compensated under the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). Contrary to the state laws on workers' compensation which are governed by federal law, this federal law requires injured railroad employees to prove that their employers were negligent.
