The Federal Employers Liability Act

The Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) was created in 1908 to help protect railroad workers. FELA allows railroad employees to sue their employer for damages, even those that are not covered by workmen's comp laws. This includes claims for negligence and damages that aren't reduced by the worker's assumption of risk.
