How to Program a Key

The majority of the new keys for modern vehicles need to be programmed to function. This can be accomplished at a dealer's parts department or by a locksmith equipped with the right tools.

There are two situations where key programming is required at shops: adding an extra key or keys working are lost. The steps for each vary slightly, but they can all
