Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA)

The Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) is a unique law that protects railroad workers who are injured. In contrast to workers' compensation laws, FELA is a fault-based statute and requires employers to demonstrate that their negligence was a factor in the employee's injury or illness.

FELA also covers cumulative trauma injuries, wh
