Federal Employers Liability Act

The federal employees liability act (FELA) allows injured railroad workers to file lawsuits against their employers. In contrast to workmen's compensation laws, which give out payouts without regard to the fault of the railroad, FELA demands that plaintiffs prove the railroad’s negligence caused their injuries.
