If the closer closes too fast or too slow, look for a +/- screw or knob, or see whether a part can be twisted after removing the pin on door. Adjust as needed (if available). If the actual just slams shut, the closer must be replaced. They cost around $10-$20 and are super easy to install (follow the instructions). Take that window lock repair with you to match it up.
