The Federal Employers Liability Act

The Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) was created in 1908 to protect railroad workers. FELA allows railroad workers to sue their employer for damages, even those that are not covered by workmen's compensation laws. This includes negligence claims as well as damages that are not diminished by the assumption of risk.
