Real leather furniture is durable and timeless. However the process of identifying genuine leather sofas from "split," "bonded," and faux (fake) leather options isn't easy.

Look for rough or uneven edges that suggest that the item is truly leather. Genuine leather may also have an uneven underside or "fat wrinkles".
