The Federal Employers Liability Act

The Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) was enacted in 1908, was created to protect railroad workers. FELA allows railroad workers to sue their employer for damages, including those that are not covered under workmen's comp laws. This includes claims for negligence as well as damages that are not diminished by the assumption of risk.
