The Federal Employers Liability Act

The Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) was passed in 1908, was designed to protect railroad employees. FELA allows railroad workers to sue their employer for damages, including those that are not covered under workmen's comp laws. This includes negligence claims and damages that are not diminished by the worker's assumption risk.
