Fela Kuti

Fela is a man with contradictions. That's what makes him so intriguing. People who love him are able to forgive his bad sides.

His songs often run for up to 20 minutes, and are sung in thick, almost incomprehensible Pidgin English. His music is heavily influenced by Christian hymns, jazz, classical music, Yoruba chant, and horn-and-guitar heavy highlife.
