FELA and the Railroad Industry

The FELA protects railroad employees. It covers a broad spectrum of employees, including locomotive engineers and brakemen as well as conductors, firemen, signalmen, carmen and clerical employees.

In contrast to other forms of workers compensation, FELA claims require proof of negligence. This can be difficult especially in the case of injurie
