Item upgrades give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already have. This can be done by any item upgrader NPC.

Generally upgrades increase an items main stats and provide extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield, for FB Sorcs, or Goldwraps for build casters.
