Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA)

Railroad workers face many hazards working in the field. The Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA) was passed by Congress to tackle this issue. The law exempts employers from the state's workers compensation laws. The law also allows for cash payouts to be determined by juries on the basis of the concept of comparative negligence.
