What is Pragmatics?

Pragmatics is the study of the relationship between language, context and meaning. It deals with questions such as what do people mean by the words they use?

It's a philosophy that focuses on practical and reasonable actions. It is in contrast to idealism, the belief that you must always abide to your convictions.
