Choosing a Large Clay Chiminea

Mexican Chimeneas are among the most efficient fire pits for patios. They are simple to put together and easy to light. But, they aren't intended for flames that are roaring. Placing wood coals directly on the clay may cause cracks. To avoid this the possibility of cracking, a layer of three inches of sand must be put on the bottom of the chimenea.
