The A1 license permits riders to ride with no L-plates on motorcycles, carry passengers as pillion and ride on motorways. It is available at the age of 17 after having completed CBT.

After two years, you can upgrade to a full-A license by taking either the progressive or direct access route. Both require a theory and a practical test.
